at 15 National Trust sites!
From planting new apple trees
to protecting orchards via local
community schemes, we can't wait
to share our results with you!
Washington Old Hall
Tyne and Wear

Over the coming months, we are working with the Washington Old Hall to:
- 1.ENHANCE their wildflower nut orchard as part of their ongoing Nuttery development
- 2.PLANT 35 native heritage apple trees
- 3.PROVIDE FUNDS for equipment and tools

Over the coming months, we are working with Belton House to:
- 1.PLANT a new orchard on National Trust land in Belton village, planting 137 new trees!
- 2.SUPPLY new tools and help drain the land
- 3.ENGAGE villagers and schools to help Plant & Protect the orchard
- 4.OUR LONG TERM AIM is to build a community of volunteers in Belton village to manage the orchard for years to come

Over the coming months, we are working with Calke Abbey to:
- 1.PLANT 60 new apple trees plus stake and ties
- 2.ENGAGE the local community in the planting of the new trees
- 3.PRESERVE East Midland varieties of apple trees, by consciously only planting these varieties
Moseley Old Hall
Wolverhampton

Over the coming months, we are working with Moseley Old Hall to:
- 1.IMPROVE the existing orchard which contains heritage varieties
- 2.PLANT 3 new apple trees and 3 new pear trees
- 3.PROVIDE FUNDS for equipment and tools
- 4.EDUCATE and engage visitors by running workshops to increase awareness of apples

Over the coming months, we are working with Charlecote Park to:
- 1. RESTORE the historical orchard site which has been in existence since 1736
- 2. PROVIDE FUNDS for new equipment for the Victorian kitchen (apple press, trays and peelers) for a Victorian weekend
- 3. PLANT 15 new fruit trees and commission copies of the original tree guards for all trees, all trees will be identified and labeled
- 4. RAISE FUNDS through working with the local community
- 5. PROTECT and maintain existing and new apple trees

Over the coming months, we are working with Middle Littleton Tithe Barn to:
- 1.PLANT 50 new apple trees of traditional varieties
- 2.PROVIDE FUNDS for equipment and tools
- 3.SUSTAIN the orchard via using the apples for a micro-brewery to produce cider

Over the coming months, we are working with Ickworth orchard to:
- 1.REJUVENATE the orchard to compliment it's historic garden walls
- 2.PLANT 25 new apple trees
- 3.PROVIDE FUNDS for new tools for the orchard
- 4.DIVERSIFY THE ORCHARD, to also help to improve their fruit orchard

Over the coming months, we are working with the urban orchard to:
- 1.SOURCE TRADITIONAL APPLE VARIETIES , to be planted in workshops with local community groups and schools
- 2.RECRUIT gardening volunteers and community groups to maintain the traditional varieties
- 3.PLANT 10 new apple trees
- 4.PROVIDE FUNDS for new equipment, tools and an apple day event
- 5.FORM PARTNERSHIP with the Cotehele orchard, Cornwall

Over the coming months, we are working with the new community orchard to:
- 1. PLANT 10 new fruit trees of the local heritage 'Merton' variety, many of which were developed by John Innes who created Merdon Park a 'garden suburb' close to Morden Hall Park
- 2. EDUCATE visitors to lead a greener lifestyle
Apple varieties to be planted: 'Merton Prolific', 'Merton Worchester', 'Merton Russet', 'Merton Beauty', and 'Merton Charm'.
Pear varieties to be planted: 'Merton Pride' and 'Merton Star'.
Cherry varieties to be planted: 'Merton Favourite', 'Merton Marvel' and 'Merton Glory'.

- 1.IDENTIFY the apple trees already in the orchard, some may be from Victorian times!

- 4.FACILITATE and advise of fruit production techniques for future juice/brewing production

- 1.RESTORE the walled garden, planting fruit trees along the walls and the edge of the garden
- 2.PLANT 17 new apple trees
- 3.PROVIDE FUNDS for fencing, equipment and tools to allow demonstration events for visitor engagement

- 1.PLANT at least 40 lost trees across a number of orchard sites in the Somerset area
- 2.PROVIDE FUNDS for equipment and tools
- 3.INVOLVE and engage local schools and community

- 1.PLANT up to 300 apple trees within 3 new orchards on the estate
- 2.SUSTAIN the orchard via using the apples for the production of a Killerton apple juice
- 3.PROVIDE FUNDS for fences and equipment for these orchards
- 4.EDUCATE and engage visitors by running workshops to increase awareness of apples

- 1. PRESERVE one of Cotehele's oldest orchard, dating back to 1731
- 2. PLANT 25 new apple trees with tree guards
- 3. PROVIDE FUNDS for new tools and engaging public events
- 4. SUSTAIN the orchard via facilitating an increase in the orchard's apple juice production
