Boxford Farm’s winter wildlife

Here are a few pictures taken during the January cold spell. The cold weather and recent snow fall will prove to be a tough time for the local wildlife. For the naturalist however, harsh weather can be a good time for nature watching as the scant food supply forces many species to lower their guard and they are inclined to be less cautious, also the white backdrop will make many creatures stand out to be more easily seen.

To note on the pictures: The deer is a ‘roe’ deer and the owl is a ‘little’ owl. The red dog shaped thing is obviously a fox.
