Well the bees did their job pollinating the blossom during spring and now the blossom has budded into bright red delicious tasting apples. And so it was time for me to venture out into the orchards to shoot the next seasonal video.
We spoke to the Boxford Farm Manager who has been working with apples for 20 years. He explained what to look for to know when the apple is ready to pick, how to pick them (theres a technique!) and why you sometimes need to pick the same tree over 2-3 weeks. The farmer and his team were in the orchards picking apples and loading them into the wooden crates. It was another great day out in the orchards and I certainly ate my fair share of apples. Make sure you keep an eye on the ‘down on the farm’ section of the website as the summer videos will be loaded up soon!

P.S. A wee pick above to show the apple pickers hard at it! Look at all those beautiful apples!
